We want everyone to be able to use ipaddress.co.il, including people with disabilities. This statement follows Israel’s Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, and Israeli Standard 5568, which is based on the WCAG guidelines.
Accessibility level
The site was designed to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Full conformance has not yet been confirmed by an accredited accessibility auditor; until it is, we do not claim full conformance with the standard.
What we have done
- Real right-to-left Hebrew. The whole interface mirrors for right-to-left languages, and IP addresses, domains and AS numbers are shown left to right inside Hebrew text, so that screen readers and readers alike get them right.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element can be reached with the keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
- Structure and labels. Hierarchical headings, landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), a label for every form field and a text alternative for graphical elements.
- Contrast. Every text colour has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against its background, in the light and the dark theme.
- Motion. Animations are switched off when the operating system asks for reduced motion.
- Language. Every page declares its language and direction (lang and dir), and text in another language is marked as such.
- Not by colour alone. States (OK, warning, error) are also given in words.
What has not yet been tested
- The interactive map on the address lookup page shows information that is also given in the text next to it; the map itself is not fully accessible to screen readers.
- Testing so far has been automated and with the keyboard; no test with screen-reader users has been carried out yet.
